Getting a new social website off the groung and guided into the right direction takes a lot of time and tolerance.
Afew things we must remeber when starting a website or social network.
(1. Your audlance, your target audiance is very important. if you do not know
your target you should do a lot of reseach start by using the old method, Who, What, When, Where and, How. Who is your targeted audiance, What can you offer them, where and how should be a message you can deliver.
(2. Get the word out tell as many people as you can, there are plenty of people who will listen to what you have to say, just as long as you can deliver what you're saying. Try not to sell a pipe dream. There are plenty of social networking tools to use, make new friends with simular interest or can relate to your niche have them sign-up as a member of your site and have them tell their friends, I believe word of mouth is key.
(3. Staying involved and interacting with your users is a great way of getting to know them, and getting to know you. send out a email notice and have an active discussion on your website tell your users what your future plans are for your platform and let them lend an opinion on what they feel you should do. remember your network is about them not about you if you want to keep members you have to
keep them involved.
